Description: 
A dialogue between participants in/supporters of the autonomous regions of Chiapas, Mexico and Rojava (Northern Syria). Emre Şahin, a Kurdish movement participant and scholar, and Mexican activist-scholar, Charlotte María Sáenz, will dialogue about the origins, philosophies and day to day activities and challenges of the autonomous communities of the Zapatistas in Chiapas and the Cantons of Rojava. Facilitated by Marina Sitrin, Emre and Charlotte will think together, ask questions of each other and have an open conversation with those participating in the discussion space at the Left Forum. Some of the questions to be addressed include: democracy and participation, alternative economies, women, defense, adjudication, education, militarism and war, internationalism and solidarity.
