Description:
This workshop would be part of a track: For Survival, Against Poverty, Racism and Criminalization of Survival: Invest in Caring Not Killing. Mothers and other caregivers are campaigning to establish that raising children is work and that caring work has economic value, granting entitlement to welfare and other resources: in the US, for the RISE Out of Poverty Act, a bill in Congress to reestablish entitlement to welfare, end the devastation of welfare в??reformв?ќ, and tackle the poverty of children and mothers and the snatching of children by the child welfare industry; in the UK circulating a petition в??Invest in a caring society. A living wage for mothers and other carersв?ќ for recognition and payment; demanding resources for caring, redirecting economic and social policies **towards people and the planet в?? and away from the uncaring market**. Domestic workers are organizing for recognition as workers and entitlement to the same rights and protections as other workers.
