Amalya Y. Livingston is 21 years old, a native of Edwards, MS and a Honors/Distinction graduate of Pearl High School where she was ranked 32nd out of 800+ peers. She is the second oldest of five children who are all Mississippi natives as well. When she is not occupied with being a full-time big sister and daughter, she devotes her time to working with grassroots organizations such as: Cooperative Jackson, the Malcolm X Grassroots Movement, Respect Our Black Dollars and the Coalition for Economic Justice. She is dedicated to facilitating transformation (by any means) in disenfranchised communities of color and across the globe. She is also one of the anchors for Cooperation Jackson's Community Production Cooperative.
