Kate Raphael is a writer, activist, radio producer and wage slave in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her Palestine mystery series, the first English language mystery series with a Palestinian policewoman as a protagonist, has won the Inddpendent Publisher's Book Award, and been named a finalist for the Lambda Literary Award and the Foreword INDIES Best Books. She's a founding member of Queers Undermining Israeli Terrorism and Act Against Torture, a long-time member of LAGAI-Queer Insurrection and its editorial collective, a former community grand marshal of the SF LGBT Freedom Day Parade, and has been deported from both Israel and Bahrain for human rights activism.
