Scott Aquanno teaches international political economy at the University of Ontario. He holds a PhD from the Ross School of Politics at York University and has published broadly on the political economy of monetary policy and international finance. His work on financial risk draws attention to the critical role that states have played in the management of financial credibility since the start of the post-war period in showing that financial hegemony, far from operating in a closed economic sphere, external to state influence, has been partly constituted through key financial regulatory branches of the US state.
